UK Technology Sovereignty: Communication Strategies for Growth
UK companies in deep tech must enhance communication strategies to attract investment and support domestic growth. Recent funding initiatives highlight a shift towards strengthening local capabilities, yet the narrative around these technologies remains underdeveloped.

UK companies are increasingly seeking overseas growth capital or becoming acquisition targets, as exemplified by Quantum Motion and Darktrace. In response, the UK government has launched several initiatives, including a £500 million Sovereign AI Fund and a £400 million investment in domestic AI infrastructure.
A cross-party amendment to the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill is pushing for a formal digital sovereignty strategy. For deep tech firms, investing in communication from the seed or Series A stage is crucial to articulate the significance of their technologies to investors and policymakers.
Companies need to focus on real-world adoption and establish thought leadership to demonstrate their value. Without effective communication, even differentiated technologies may struggle to gain support, hindering domestic scaling and growth.
