Renewable Energy Groups Challenge Trump Administration's Actions on Wind and Solar
A coalition of eight renewable energy groups has filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration, challenging six actions that they claim obstruct the permitting of wind and solar projects. Supported by environmental organizations like NRDC and the Environmental Defense Fund, the lawsuit argues that these actions by federal agencies violate laws and undermine market fairness and climate objectives. The case is currently being heard in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

A coalition of eight renewable energy groups filed a lawsuit in December against six Trump Administration actions that allegedly hinder wind and solar project permitting. Environmental organizations, including NRDC and the Environmental Defense Fund, submitted a friend of the court brief supporting the lawsuit.
The brief argues that actions by the Department of the Interior, Army Corps of Engineers, and Fish & Wildlife Service are unlawful and impede market fairness, affordability, and climate goals. Wind and solar currently represent 17% of U.S. electricity generation, and the case is being heard in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
