RENK America Celebrates 120 Years in Muskegon with Growth Plans and New Contracts
RENK America, with a history dating back 120 years in Muskegon County, plans a $150 million investment in Michigan by 2030, focusing on defense manufacturing. The company recently secured a five-year contract with the U.S. Army for transmission production.

RENK America is investing $150 million in Michigan from 2024 to 2030, comprising $70 million in capital and $80 million in R&D. The Muskegon Township facility, which spans 1.2 million square feet and employs approximately 480, has added 160 jobs in the past 18 months.
RENK America, formed in 2021 after acquiring the L3Harris facility, has roots in the region dating back to 1906 with Continental Motors. The company focuses on military mobility systems, holding a five-year contract with the U.S.
Army for the HMPT 800 transmission, its fourth multiyear agreement. This sustained growth indicates a strong partnership with defense sectors, reflecting ongoing commitment to the local economy.
