Rep. Clyburn Secures $50 Million Federal Funding for SC's 6th Congressional District Projects

Clyburn announced the allocation of $50 million in federal funding for community projects in South Carolina's 6th Congressional District, part of a federal spending package approved by Congress. The funding addresses needs in education, infrastructure, public safety, and economic development.
Key projects include $22.455 million for Lakes Marion and Moultrie construction, $15 million for a Military Science Center at South Carolina State University, and $3 million for Claflin University's economic renewal project. Other allocations include $1.031 million for a Quantum Information Science Hub, $1.092 million for wastewater treatment expansion, and $1.5 million for downtown revitalization in Bamberg County. The spending package also provides funding for energy and transportation initiatives, totaling $72.4 million in defense-related funding for research and technology programs at local universities.
