The Republic of Congo plans to transition to an integrated gas economy by 2026, supported by a new Gas Code and significant upstream investments. Oil production is targeted at 500,000 bpd, with LNG capacity reaching 3 mtpa. Major investments include TotalEnergies' $500 million expansion at Moho Nord and Perenco's $200 million Kombi 2 platform. The government aims to double power generation capacity to 1,500 MW by 2030, leveraging gas and hydropower resources.

The Republic of Congo is set to transition to an integrated gas economy by 2026, targeting oil production of 500,000 bpd and LNG capacity of 3 mtpa. TotalEnergies has committed over $500 million in 2025 for production expansion at Moho Nord, while Perenco's Kombi 2 platform is expected to begin operations in early 2026.
The recently introduced Gas Code lays the groundwork for monetizing 10 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves. The government plans to enhance power generation capacity to 1,500 MW by 2030 through gas and hydropower. Congo aims to position itself as sub-Saharan Africa's third-largest oil market while building necessary gas infrastructure.
