ReVentas Secures £3.5 Million for Innovative Plastic Recycling Technology
ReVentas has received £3.5 million in funding from Scottish Enterprise to advance its proprietary recycling technology for difficult-to-recycle plastics. This funding is part of a £9 million project aimed at enhancing the company's pilot facility in Livingston, supporting Scotland's circular economy goals.

ReVentas has been awarded £3.5 million in grant funding from Scottish Enterprise, part of a £9 million initiative, to enhance its recycling technology for challenging plastics such as food packaging films. The company’s innovative dissolution process utilizes a chemical solvent to dissolve waste plastics, producing a virgin-like polymer suitable for high-value applications.
This technology operates under low temperature and pressure, minimizing process costs and carbon emissions. Additionally, ReVentas has formed a partnership with KBR to facilitate global technology rollout.
The funding will expand the Livingston pilot facility and is aligned with upcoming UK mandates for plastic film recycling, effective from 2028. ReVentas’ success could position Scotland as a leader in sustainable technologies and support job creation.
