Rheinmetall Delivers First Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicle from Hungarian Production
Rheinmetall has delivered the first KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle produced in Hungary, marking a key milestone in local defense manufacturing. The production is part of a €2 billion contract under Hungary's 'Zrínyi 2026' initiative, aimed at enhancing the country's military capabilities and technological self-sufficiency.

On July 24, 2024, Rheinmetall officially handed over the first KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle produced at its Zalaegerszeg facility to the Hungarian armed forces. The vehicle was completed in December 2023 and underwent quality inspections before the handover.
The Zalaegerszeg site, opened in August 2023, is Rheinmetall's most advanced competence center for tracked armored vehicles. Under the 'Zrínyi 2026' initiative, Hungary will receive 209 Lynx vehicles in seven configurations, with 46 units expected by the end of 2025.
The partnership also aims to create local jobs and promote technological transfer, with around 300 positions expected at the site. The Lynx vehicle's modular design enhances adaptability for various operational roles.
