Rheinmetall Divests Civilian Division to AEQUITA for €350 Million
Rheinmetall has signed an agreement to sell its Power Systems division to AEQUITA for €350 million, aiming for completion in Q4 2026. This strategic shift allows Rheinmetall to concentrate on military operations, responding to growing demand in defense markets.

Rheinmetall is divesting its civilian Power Systems division to AEQUITA for €350 million, with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. The transaction is pending regulatory approval and follows Rheinmetall's strategic pivot towards military operations, having previously exited its automotive supplier business.
AEQUITA plans to retain approximately 6,250 employees and operate the division independently under existing brands. The Power Systems division contributed around €2 billion in sales in 2025 and has been classified as a discontinued operation. This move could consolidate Rheinmetall's focus on high-margin military sectors, potentially increasing its competitiveness in defense.
