Ribnjačarstvo Končanica in Croatia plans to install a floating solar power plant on its fish ponds to integrate fish farming with renewable energy. The project aims to enhance sustainability, preserve jobs, and tackle challenges posed by climate change. An environmental impact assessment is the next step in the project, which is expected to increase employment from 45 to over 100. The initiative will also generate nearly EUR 500,000 in annual revenue for the local municipal budget.

Ribnjačarstvo Končanica is set to install a floating solar power plant on its fish ponds, aiming to combine intensive fish farming with renewable energy. This project, which is in the environmental impact assessment phase, seeks to create a sustainable system addressing climate change and water shortages.
The floating solar plant is anticipated to improve operations and benefit the local community, potentially preserving jobs and preventing pond closures. The initiative aligns with the Natura 2000 network and is projected to increase employment at the fish farm significantly. Additionally, it is expected to contribute around EUR 500,000 annually to the municipal budget.
