Rice Creek Commons Achieves LEED Platinum Precertification in Arden Hills
Rice Creek Commons in Arden Hills has received LEED for Communities Platinum precertification, marking a significant milestone for sustainable development. This distinction positions the project as one of the top in Minnesota and globally, emphasizing its comprehensive approach to environmental considerations.

The Rice Creek Commons project, spanning 427 acres in Arden Hills, has achieved LEED for Communities Platinum precertification. This certification, issued by the U.S. Green Building Council, positions it as potentially the second project in Minnesota and among fewer than 60 worldwide to obtain this level of recognition.
The project site, formerly the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant, was acquired by Ramsey County in 2013 for redevelopment into a mixed-use community. The TCAAP Joint Development Authority was established through a Joint Powers Agreement to oversee this redevelopment. The project emphasizes sustainable practices across various domains, including energy and greenhouse gas reduction.
