Richfield Council Approves Moratoriums and Infrastructure Improvements Amid Business Recognition
The Richfield Council recognized three businesses for their resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic while implementing moratoriums on zoning certificates for data centers and multifamily dwellings. This highlights a strategic focus on regulating development and enhancing community infrastructure amid economic recovery efforts.

The Richfield Council has adopted a 180-day moratorium on zoning certificates for data centers and a six-month moratorium for multifamily dwellings to ensure proper regulation under state and local laws. This action aligns with a broader strategy to address infrastructure needs and community development in light of increased demands from new businesses.
Additionally, the council recognized Olesia Pochynok of Taverne of Richfield, Pascal King-Smith of Ohio Hardwood Furniture, and Mike Lytz of Richfield Brewing Company for their contributions during the pandemic. A $4.6 million project to improve the intersection at West Streetsboro and Broadview roads is in planning, with federal funding applications pending. The community's infrastructure updates may enhance local business viability but will require careful resource allocation.
