Rio Grande do Norte Allocates R$ 1.37 Billion for Energy Transmission Projects by 2030
The state of Rio Grande do Norte will invest over R$ 1.37 billion in energy transmission infrastructure by 2030, following recent auctions by Aneel. The latest auction awarded Engie Transmissão de Energia Participações S.A contracts for two substations, with investments totaling approximately R$ 570 million. The projects aim to enhance the transmission network capacity and create nearly 4,000 jobs. Completion is expected within 42 months of contract signing, which should take place by June 2026.

Rio Grande do Norte will invest over R$ 1.37 billion in energy transmission infrastructure by 2030, driven by two recent Aneel auctions. The latest auction, held in São Paulo, awarded Engie Transmissão de Energia Participações S.A contracts for two substations, 3A and 3D, with offers of R$ 22,817,987.58 and R$ 21,635,252.88, respectively, totaling around R$ 570 million in investments.
The projects are expected to be completed within 42 months of contract signing by June 2026. The auctions are projected to generate nearly 3,944 jobs and contribute to the overall enhancement of the transmission capacity in northeastern Brazil, addressing current infrastructure limitations.
