RNZAF Boeing 757-200 Visits Brasília During South America Tour Led by Foreign Minister
The Royal New Zealand Air Force's Boeing 757-200, carrying a delegation led by Foreign Minister Winston Peters, visited Brasília on March 4, 2026. The aircraft's South American tour began on February 28, with stops in French Polynesia, Easter Island, Argentina, and Uruguay. Following the Brazil visit, the plane is set to fly to Chile. The RNZAF plans to replace its Boeing 757s with Airbus A321XLRs by 2028 as part of a defense spending increase that will raise military expenditure to around 2% of GDP.

After Brazil, the aircraft will fly to Chile. New Zealand is replacing its Boeing 757s with A321XLRs expected to arrive in 2028, as part of increasing military spending to 2% of GDP. The RNZAF is also preparing to deploy C-130J Hercules aircraft to the Middle East to assist New Zealanders affected by regional conflicts.
