Rocket Lab Launches Suborbital Hypersonic Test for US Department of Defense

On Wednesday, Rocket Lab launched its Electron rocket to test hypersonic technologies for the US Department of Defense. This mission was conducted as part of the Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron (HASTE) program and took place from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
This launch represents the seventh hypersonic technology test under the HASTE initiative, with the first test occurring in June 2023. The continued evaluation of these technologies is crucial for advancing national defense capabilities, highlighting the urgency in the development of hypersonic systems.
