Romania Receives $10 Million Donation from Lockheed Martin for F-16 Training Systems and UAV

The Romanian government has approved the acceptance of donations from Lockheed Martin Global Inc, which include the ILIAS platform and eight auxiliary F-16 pilot training systems for the Ministry of National Defence, as well as an unmanned aerial system for the Protection and Guard Service. The total value of the donation is $10 million, considered an offset operation.

The ILIAS platform will enhance visibility over the F-16 fleet, improve logistical efficiency, and ensure interoperability with NATO allies. The training systems will expedite the training of Romanian Air Force F-16 squadrons. Additionally, the unmanned aerial system, valued at €920,262, will support the Protection and Guard Service in fulfilling its missions efficiently.
