Romanian Government Declares Five Natural Gas Metering Station Projects of National Importance
The Romanian Government has designated five natural gas metering station modernization projects as of national importance. These include Negru Voda 1, Negru Voda 2, Negru Voda 3, Isaccea 2, and Isaccea 3. They will be included in Transgaz's 2026 investment plan and budget. This designation aims to eliminate administrative blockages and expedite project implementation, contributing to energy independence through the Vertical Corridor initiative.

The Romanian Government has declared five projects to modernize natural gas metering stations—Negru Voda 1, Negru Voda 2, Negru Voda 3, Isaccea 2, and Isaccea 3—as projects of national importance. These projects will be incorporated into the Transgaz National Company’s 2026 Modernization, Development and Investment Plan and the current year's budget.
The declaration aims to reduce administrative obstacles and implementation timelines, as part of the Vertical Corridor initiative to enhance energy supply and reduce dependence. The total investment for the national natural gas transport system modernization over the next decade is estimated at 3.4 billion euros.
