Rosatom and NBEPar Form Joint Venture Nadina Minerals for Uranium Exploration in Brazil
Rosatom's Uranium One Group and Nucleo Brasil Energia Participações have established a joint venture, Nadina Minerals, to focus on critical mineral exploration and extraction projects in Brazil. The agreement was signed at the Nuclear Summit 2026 in Rio de Janeiro. The venture aims to conduct geological exploration, obtain necessary permits, and build facilities for extracting and processing critical metals. Brazil is working to expand its uranium production capabilities, with plans to reduce dependence on external sources and enhance its nuclear fuel cycle.

Rosatom's Uranium One Group and Nucleo Brasil Energia Participações have signed an agreement to create Nadina Minerals, a joint venture for critical mineral exploration and extraction in Brazil. The signing occurred during the Nuclear Summit 2026 in Rio de Janeiro.
The partners intend to secure permits, explore deposits, and build extraction facilities. Brazil aims to enhance its uranium production and nuclear fuel cycle capabilities, supported by ENBPar and BNDES, with plans for a new uranium production model.
Brazil's known resources are 210,000 tonnes of uranium, with only one active mine currently producing 340 tU annually. In 2022, Brazil produced 43 tU, with domestic consumption at about 339 tU per year.
