DEFENSE

The Royal Air Force (RAF) operates modified commercial aircraft such as the Airbus A330 Voyager and Boeing E-7 Wedgetail. The Voyager, part of a Private Finance Initiative with AirTanker, includes 14 aircraft divided into Core and Surge fleets for military missions.

The E-7 Wedgetail, based on a Boeing 737, is the RAF's most expensive aircraft, featuring advanced MESA radar and costing between $700 million and $1.8 billion per unit. Other aircraft include the P-8A Poseidon for maritime patrol, Falcon 900LX for VIP transport, and Beechcraft King Air 350 for ISR operations. The RAF's fleet is designed for diverse military roles globally.
