Royal Canadian Navy Defines Requirements for Continental Defence Corvette Project
The Royal Canadian Navy and the Department of National Defence are outlining requirements for the Continental Defence Corvette project, which aims to develop corvettes with capabilities similar to Halifax-class ships. These vessels will be tasked with various missions, including mine countermeasures, disaster response, search and rescue, coastal patrol, interdiction, anti-piracy, and humanitarian assistance, all supporting continental defence efforts.

The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and the Department of National Defence (DND) are defining requirements for the Continental Defence Corvette (CDC) project. These corvettes are expected to provide capabilities equivalent to Halifax-class ships, fulfilling various roles such as mine countermeasures, disaster response, search and rescue, and coastal patrol. Planned missions for the ships also include interdiction, anti-piracy, humanitarian assistance, and support for continental defence.
