Royal Navy Enhances Training with VR Bridge Simulator by Metaverse VR
The Royal Navy has integrated a virtual reality bridge simulator, developed by Metaverse VR, to improve operational readiness and training effectiveness. This technology allows sailors to conduct realistic maritime exercises without the need for actual vessels, significantly enhancing training capacity and efficiency.

The Royal Navy's new virtual reality bridge simulator, created by Metaverse VR, is enhancing training capabilities by allowing sailors to navigate warships through scenarios such as the Strait of Hormuz and simulate encounters with adversarial submarines. The system, part of a broader initiative under Project Selborne, has doubled the Navy's navigation training capacity and enables repeated practice without the operational costs associated with deploying real ships.
Capita, in partnership with Metaverse VR, has consolidated 27 legacy training contracts into a single framework, improving training efficiency and increasing achievement rates among apprentices. The introduction of AI has further optimized course scheduling, reducing course lengths by up to 40%. This innovative approach to training is essential for preparing sailors for real-world scenarios, mitigating risks associated with live training.
