Russia Integrates Arena-M Active Protection System into T-90M Proryv Tanks

DEFENSE

The Russian defense industry has integrated the Arena-M active protection system into the T-90M Proryv tanks to enhance resilience against drone and aerial attacks. Arena-M employs a radar-based sensor network and side-mounted missile launchers for threat detection and neutralization, allowing for effective countermeasures against drones and conventional munitions.

The new system is designed for quick response times and proactive defense, significantly increasing armored vehicle survivability. Production by UVZ includes adapting new assembly lines for the T-90M family to incorporate Arena-M modules.

The modernization aims to improve operational efficiency and communication capabilities, marking a strategic shift in defense against unmanned threats. Arena-M is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025, with potential expansions to variants like the T-90M2, influencing future warfare tactics and enhancing Russia's military capabilities.
