RWE Signs 20-Year LNG Supply Agreement with Texas LNG in Brownsville
RWE Supply & Trading and Texas LNG Brownsville have signed a 20-year agreement for the supply of one million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Texas LNG, an export facility to be built in the Port of Brownsville, Texas. Deliveries will be sent by RWE to Europe and other global locations, with operations expected to commence in 2030.
This is RWE's second long-term LNG supply contract from the U.S., following a 15-year agreement signed in 2022 with Sempra Infrastructure for approximately 2.25 million tonnes per annum from the Port Arthur LNG Terminal, anticipated to start operations in 2027. The Texas LNG facility aims to be one of the lowest-emitting terminals globally, incorporating measures for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions.
