SAAM Expands Fleet with Second Tug from ASENAV
SAAM has ordered a second tug from ASENAV, enhancing its presence in Canada and reinforcing its fleet capabilities. This acquisition supports the company's strategy to develop a modern and efficient maritime fleet.

SAAM has confirmed an order for a second tug from ASENAV, following a previous order earlier this year. The new tug will be built to the Robert Allan RAstar 3200W design, measuring 32 meters and delivering over 80 tons of bollard pull.
It will feature IMO Tier III-compliant propulsion systems, FF1 firefighting certification, and safety equipment for LNG terminal operations. This vessel is aimed at bolstering operations in Canada, a significant market for SAAM, which operates over 200 tugboats across 12 countries in the Americas. The partnership with ASENAV represents a commitment to enhancing Chile's shipbuilding industry and improving maritime competitiveness.
