Safran Signs 9-Year Support Contract with Japan Airlines for A350 Fleet
Japan Airlines has entered into a nine-year "Support By the Hour" contract with Safran for maintenance and support of its Airbus A350 fleet, covering up to 35 aircraft starting January 1, 2026. The agreement, which incorporates services from multiple Safran divisions, aims to enhance operational efficiency and service quality through advanced logistics management and real-time data analytics. This partnership represents a significant advancement in airline support within the Asia-Pacific region.

Japan Airlines has signed a nine-year "Support By the Hour" (SBH) contract with Safran, covering up to 35 Airbus A350-900 and A350-1000 aircraft, with services starting on January 1, 2026. This contract integrates offerings from four Safran companies: Safran Landing Systems, Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran Electrical & Power, and Safran Ventilation Systems.
The SBH agreement includes maintenance, repair, component pooling, logistics management, and local support in Tokyo. Safran will manage logistics and transportation of components, utilizing real-time data and analytics to anticipate maintenance needs and enhance component availability. This collaboration aims to improve operational efficiency and service quality for Japan Airlines' fleet, marking a new model for airline support in the Asia-Pacific region.
