Sagar Defence Receives License for Explosives and Ammunition Manufacturing

Sagar Defence Engineering has secured an industrial license to manufacture explosives and ammunition, facilitating India's transition towards reduced import reliance. The company plans to establish new production facilities in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, furthering its evolution from a developer of autonomous systems to a comprehensive defense manufacturer.
India’s ammunition market is projected to rise from USD 2.66 billion in 2026 to USD 4.44 billion by 2031, with a CAGR of 10.8%. Concurrently, Munitions India Limited has received a record budget allocation for FY2025 to enhance its production capacity, while private sector investments in the ammunition industry are also increasing.
