SAIC Motor Deploys First Humanoid Robot Employee, Nengzai No. 1, in Buick Production Line
On March 27, SAIC Motor introduced its first humanoid robot, Nengzai No. 1, to the production line for Buick Electra E7 batteries. Developed with AgiBot, the robot performs tasks like cell retrieval and loading, marking a milestone in SAIC's transition to embodied intelligence. The initiative follows a series of investments and tests in humanoid robotics, with SAIC Finance Holdings committing over 800 million yuan to advance core technologies.

This robot, developed with AgiBot, is tasked with critical operations such as cell retrieval and loading.
SAIC has been investing in humanoid robotics, with over 800 million yuan allocated to develop core robotics technologies. By 2024, SAIC and AgiBot validated hundreds of workstations through extensive testing, leading to the robot's integration into production. Additionally, other humanoid robots are being tested in various roles, enhancing SAIC's technological capabilities.
