Samoa CARES Initiative Launches 14 Community Projects
The Samoa CARES initiative has unveiled 14 new community projects aimed at enhancing resilience to climate change. Supported by UNDP, the Australian High Commission, and local ministries, the initiative includes various environmental and agricultural initiatives.

Fourteen projects have been initiated under the Samoa CARES initiative, focusing on solar energy, water management, and sustainable fisheries. This initiative is backed by the UNDP's Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme in collaboration with the Australian High Commission and Samoa's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
The projects are designed to bolster community resilience against climate change, addressing vulnerabilities faced by marginalized groups. Recent grant ceremonies in Upolu and Savai'i included workshops on Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), aimed at promoting inclusive practices in climate adaptation efforts. The overall impact could enhance economic stability while fostering community engagement in environmental initiatives.
