SDG Fails to Comply with Integration Agreement, Clashes Erupt in Aleppo
Clashes erupted in Aleppo's Sheikh Maqsud neighborhood as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDG) failed to comply with a 2025 integration agreement with Damascus, leading to their entrapment and allegations of using civilians as human shields. The Syrian army responded with operations that established safe corridors for civilians to evacuate, ultimately forcing SDG units to retreat from the area.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDG) did not comply with the integration agreement signed with Damascus on March 10, 2025, which required their integration into the central administration by the end of 2025. Recently, SDG forces were trapped in Aleppo's Sheikh Maqsud neighborhood, where they allegedly used civilians as human shields against the Syrian army.
Following intense clashes, SDG units were forced to evacuate the area. The Syrian army established safe corridors and designated times for civilians to leave the neighborhood during the operation.
