Seapeak Orders Two LNG Carriers from Samsung Heavy Industries for $499M
Seapeak has placed an order for two LNG carriers from Samsung Heavy Industries for approximately $499 million, with delivery slated for September 2028. This agreement, supported by 10-year time charters from an unnamed international energy company, enhances the existing partnership between Seapeak and SHI, which includes five additional LNG carriers set for delivery in 2027. The order contributes to SHI's strong performance in 2025, having already secured 43 new vessels valued at around $7.9 billion.

Seapeak has ordered two LNG carriers from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for a total of approximately $499 million, with delivery expected by September 2028. This contract is part of a long-term relationship between Seapeak and SHI, which also includes five LNG carriers already scheduled for delivery in 2027.
The new vessels are backed by 10-year time charters with an unnamed international energy company. The order contributes to SHI's busy 2025, where it has secured 43 new vessels worth around $7.9 billion, achieving over 80% of its $9.8 billion order target for the year, including 11 LNG carriers. Seapeak operates a fleet of over 90 vessels, including around 50 LNG carriers.
