Sarthak Mohapatra, a 23-year-old Merchant Navy officer from Odisha, was reported missing on February 3, 2026, while aboard the EA Jersey vessel. His family, including his mother and uncle, along with officials from the Directorate General of Shipping, conducted an inspection of the vessel in Singapore, where no trace of him was found.

The team questioned crew members, discovering inconsistencies in their statements. The vessel has since departed for China, and the family plans to meet with Indian High Commission officials for additional support as no new information has surfaced after over a week of searching.
