Seaturns has initiated the world’s first pre-commercial offshore wave energy project in Mauritius, selected under the NSEPCRET program by the Mauritius Renewable Energy Agency. The project starts with a 2 MW wave energy converter array connected to the national grid, with plans for an additional 8 MW depending on pilot performance, totaling 10 MW.

It supports Mauritius' energy diversification and security goals. The project leverages Seaturns' technology advantages, including rapid manufacturing and low visual impact. Development is supported by Taylor Smith Group, with plans for commercial pilot farms by 2030. The prototype will be tested for at least 12 months in real sea conditions.
