Security Forces Intensify Operations in Manipur After Kuki Militants Attack Army Post
Security forces in Manipur launched extensive joint operations following an attack by suspected armed Kuki militants on an Indian Army post in Phougakchao Awang Leikai. The militants opened fire late Wednesday night, prompting a retaliatory exchange that lasted approximately 30 minutes. A joint operation involving the Indian Army, CRPF, Manipur Police, and Indian Reserve Battalion is ongoing in the area and surrounding hills. Additionally, six illegal bunkers were dismantled in Ukhrul district, and security forces remain on high alert to prevent further violence.
