Senator Hoeven Proposes $232 Million for Minot AFB Sentinel Upgrades

A proposal for $232 million has been presented by Senator John Hoeven for upgrades at Minot Air Force Base, part of the Sentinel program to replace the Minutemen III missiles. The funding includes $108 million for a new Security Forces Operations Complex, which will centralize existing facilities and support over 1,000 personnel.
Additionally, a $124 million Sentinel Consolidated Vehicle Maintenance Complex will increase vehicle maintenance capacity from 500 to 1,400. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027, with implications for enhanced security and modernization. This funding could also lead to further investments in the Sentinel program at the facility.
