Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan announced that Kodiak and other U.S. Coast Guard communities will not receive funding for local infrastructure in the upcoming national defense bill. This marks the third consecutive year Sullivan has attempted to secure inclusion of the Coast Guard in the Pentagon's Defense Community Investment Program (DCIP). The Coast Guard remains ineligible for DCIP funding as it is not a part of the Department of Defense.
