Senegal and The Gambia Sign 12 Agreements to Enhance Strategic Partnership
Senegal and The Gambia have formalized 12 agreements to enhance cooperation in security, trade, and energy. This initiative aims to accelerate economic integration and improve connectivity in West Africa.

On June 12, Senegal and The Gambia signed 12 agreements during the fourth session of the Senegalese-Gambian Presidential Council in Dakar. The agreements encompass sectors such as defense, trade, energy, digital technology, culture, and regional cooperation.
The collaboration aims to facilitate the movement of people and goods, supporting broader economic integration efforts in West Africa. Trade exchanges between the two nations exceeded $172 million in 2024.
Strengthening these ties follows a recent working visit by Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to The Gambia. Enhanced cooperation could lead to increased regional stability and economic growth, but effective implementation remains critical.
