Serbia's Militarization Increases Amid Domestic Challenges, Says Expert
Predrag Petrovic from the Belgrade Center for Security Policy reported that Serbia is experiencing increased militarization, characterized by the appointment of loyalists to key positions and a rise in arms purchases. He suggested that the government is fostering a narrative of external threats to divert attention from ongoing domestic challenges, and noted the potential reinstatement of conscription amid a declining professional army.
