Serrallés Residents Request Review of Public Space Use Amid Parking Space Dispute
Residents of the Serrallés sector in Santo Domingo are demanding a review by the National District City Hall of parking spaces around a public park, citing potential impacts on public property and access restrictions. They allege that around 46 parking spaces are improperly designated, referencing historical satellite images and founding documents of the Juan Antonio Condominium. A complaint was filed in early 2026 following the removal of six parking spaces, with residents providing evidence to support their claims.

Residents of the Serrallés sector in Santo Domingo have requested that the National District City Hall review the use of approximately 46 parking spaces around a public park, claiming these spaces are improperly restricted. The park includes green areas designated under Law 675 of 1944, which mandated green spaces in urban developments.
Residents argue that the parking spaces, visible only from 2011 onward, were not part of the original project established with the Juan Antonio Condominium in 1989. A formal complaint was filed with the Office for the Defense and Use of Public Spaces in early 2026 after the community lost six parking spaces. Authorities are expected to review the submitted documentation.
