SETC and Torrent Gas have inaugurated a CNG fuelling station at SETC's depot in Tamil Nadu to facilitate the transition of public buses from diesel to compressed natural gas. This project aims to improve mileage, reduce fuel costs, and lower emissions.
In the first phase, approximately 70 buses will operate on CNG, marking a significant shift towards sustainable public transportation. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board has authorized Torrent Gas to supply CNG and piped natural gas in Nagapattinam district and the Karaikal region of Puducherry.
