Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, from Fort Carson, died on March 8 from injuries sustained during an operation on March 1 in Saudi Arabia as part of Operation Epic Fury.

He was assigned to the 1st Space Battalion, 1st Space Brigade, and had enlisted in 2017 as a unit supply specialist. Pennington will be posthumously promoted to staff sergeant. His military awards include three Army Commendation Medals and multiple other decorations.
