Shell to Acquire ARC Resources Ltd for CAD 22 Billion
Shell plc has agreed to acquire ARC Resources Ltd for approximately CAD 22 billion, enhancing its production capacity and cash flow. This strategic move is expected to grow Shell's production CAGR to 4% through 2030, significantly boosting its presence in the Montney shale basin of Canada.

Shell plc has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire ARC Resources Ltd for about CAD 22 billion, with shareholders receiving CAD 32.80 per share, which includes CAD 8.20 in cash and 0.40247 Shell shares. The acquisition is projected to increase Shell's production CAGR to 4% by 2030, enhancing its long-term cash flow and production capacity in the Montney basin.
The expected completion date for this transaction is the second half of 2026, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals. This acquisition will also integrate ARC's expertise and assets into Shell's existing operations, supporting growth in LNG and other energy sectors.
