Shenzhen PICEA Robotics Completes Acquisition of iRobot, Ensuring Roomba Functionality
iRobot has officially completed its acquisition by Shenzhen PICEA Robotics after exiting Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company reassures its 50 million Roomba users that their devices will continue to function and that customer support, software updates, and the iRobot Home app will be maintained. iRobot will operate as a private entity while preserving its engineering and marketing teams in Bedford, aiming to enhance investment capacity for future domestic robot development.

iRobot has finalized its acquisition by Shenzhen PICEA Robotics following its exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The transition to private ownership aims to alleviate user concerns, particularly for the 50 million Roomba users, confirming that their robots will remain operational. PICEA, already the main manufacturer of iRobot products, will ensure ongoing customer support, software updates, and functionality of the iRobot Home app. iRobot intends to leverage increased investment capacity for future domestic robot generations while retaining its headquarters in Bedford, maintaining its engineering and marketing teams in the U.S.
