Shield AI Expands Operations in India with New Delhi Office and Bangalore Plans
Shield AI has opened a new office in New Delhi and plans to launch another in Bangalore, enhancing its collaboration with the Indian Ministry of Defence. This expansion aims to support local engineering capabilities and meet India's autonomy priorities, amidst a strategic partnership to manufacture V-BAT drones.

Shield AI has established a new office in New Delhi as part of its commitment to grow its presence in India, with a second office planned in Bangalore for summer 2026. The company has created a wholly owned subsidiary, Shield AI India, focused on software integration and engineering to support the Indian Armed Forces.
In 2024, Shield AI partnered with JSW Defence to manufacture its V-BAT unmanned aircraft, with a $90 million production facility under construction in Hyderabad, expected to be operational by late 2026. The V-BAT drone, designed for various missions, will incorporate Hivemind autonomy software, enhancing operational capabilities for the Indian military. This move underscores the significance of US-India defense collaborations, which may lead to increased strategic and economic benefits for both nations.
