The French Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service (Shom) awarded a contract to RTsys for a NemoSens autonomous underwater micro-drone after a seven-month tender process. The order, part of Shom's modernization program, is aimed at improving seabed data acquisition by 2024.

The NemoSens, scheduled for delivery in 2026, will support high-resolution mapping of the continental shelf. It features a modular design with capabilities for various missions, addressing the need for timely seabed data for both civilian and defense users. The initiative coincides with the renewal of the French Navy's hydrographic fleet, enhancing operational efficiency.
