Shopian Forest Division Launches Green J&K Drive 2026 with Major Plantation Initiatives
The Shopian Forest Division has initiated the Green J&K Drive 2026, conducting three days of plantation and distribution activities in multiple forest blocks. This initiative aims to enhance environmental sustainability and engage the community in ecological restoration efforts.

The Shopian Forest Division executed a three-day Institutional Plantation and Distribution Drive under the Green J&K Drive 2026, focusing on Sedow, Heerpora, and Zawoora Forest Blocks. Participation included the Army, local government officials, and school children, who together planted numerous conifer and broad-leaved saplings.
In addition to planting, the Department of Forest distributed a significant number of saplings to local residents at no cost. This initiative may strengthen community engagement in environmental stewardship and support long-term ecological restoration efforts in the region.
