Sineng Electric Installs 24 MW Battery Facility in Albania
Sineng Electric has launched a 24 MW battery energy storage system in Albania, marking the country's entry into grid-scale battery technology. This facility enhances energy storage capabilities in the region, particularly following previous developments in North Macedonia and upcoming projects in Albania by Fortis Energy and Energy Vault Holdings.

Sineng Electric has completed a 24 MW / 48 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Fier county, Albania, which is now in commercial operation. The installation includes a central PCS MV turnkey station and medium-voltage equipment.
Sineng Electric, established in 2012, previously supplied inverters for the Karavasta PV plant, the largest in the Western Balkans. Additionally, Fortis Energy has begun construction on a 75 MW solar power plant in Albania, which will integrate a 25 MWh battery system.
Energy Vault Holdings plans to deploy 1.8 GWh in BESS capacity in the Balkans, including Albania, with projects set to expand energy storage in the region significantly. Upcoming projects may bolster energy resilience but could also introduce competition among energy providers.
