Singapore Navy Begins Construction of Third and Fourth MRCVs
Steel cutting for the RSN's third and fourth Multi-Role Combat Vessels was completed on April 29. The MRCVs will replace the Victory-class corvettes by 2028, enhancing naval capabilities.

On April 29, 2026, the Republic of Singapore Navy initiated steel cutting for its third and fourth Multi-Role Combat Vessels (MRCVs) at ST Engineering Marine Limited. The second MRCV, named Valour, is expected to launch in the latter half of 2026.
The MRCVs are designed to succeed the existing Victory-class missile corvettes starting in 2028 and are capable of operating with reduced crew sizes. Equipped with advanced sensors and weapon systems, they can address a wide range of threats and possess an operational range of over 7,000 nautical miles.
The first vessel, Victory, was launched in October 2025 and is currently undergoing outfitting and trials. The development involves contributions from DSTA, DSO National Laboratories, ST Engineering, Saab Kockums, and Odense Maritime Technology, ensuring advanced capabilities in naval warfare.
