Singapore Navy Increases Monitoring After Crocodile Sighting Near Changi Naval Base

The crocodile was detected by the 9th Flotilla and returned to the Singapore Strait shortly after. This incident follows another sighting near Sentosa, which led to the suspension of water activities at several beaches. The navy urges the public to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines.

The Republic of Singapore Navy has stepped up monitoring after a crocodile was sighted near Changi Naval Base. The 9th Flotilla was alerted to the crocodile, which briefly stayed in the area before returning to the Singapore Strait.
This occurrence follows a prior sighting at Sentosa, prompting water activity suspensions at Siloso, Palawan, and Tanjong beaches. The National Parks Board and Sentosa Development Corporation were notified of the previous sighting on January 31. Public safety advisories regarding crocodile encounters have been issued.
