SKK Migas Approves Ubadari Field and Vorwata CCUS Development Plans at Tangguh LNG Project
SKK Migas has approved the Plan of Development for Ubadari Field and Vorwata CCUS, projected to recover 1.3 Tcf of gas. This development aligns with Indonesia's commitment to reduce emissions and enhance gas production efficiency.

The approved Plan of Development (POD) for Ubadari Field and Vorwata CCUS at the Tangguh LNG Project is set to enhance gas recovery by an estimated 1.3 trillion cubic feet (Tcf). Ubadari will employ Normally Unmanned Installations (NUI) linked to offshore pipelines, while Vorwata CCUS aims to inject approximately 25 million tons of CO2 into the reservoir, potentially eliminating nearly half of Tangguh's emissions.
The Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase is expected to commence in mid-2022, with a project startup anticipated in 2026. Tangguh, Indonesia's largest gas-producing field, currently outputs 1.4 billion cubic feet (Bcf) per day, projected to increase to 2.1 Bcf per day with the completion of Train 3. The project is critical for stable LNG supply and emission reduction efforts.
