Solar Defence Develops First Universal 125-kg Air Bomb for NATO and Russian Fighter Jets

DEFENSE

Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited has developed the world's first universal 125-kg air bomb compatible with both NATO and Russian fighter aircraft. This innovation, unveiled by Chairman Satyanarayan Nuwal and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, represents a significant advancement in India's defense manufacturing.

The bomb has completed successful trials on the Mirage-2000 and is currently being integrated with the Sukhoi-30MKI fleet, with advanced evaluation stages ongoing. This universal bomb resolves logistical challenges faced by air forces with mixed aircraft fleets, eliminating the need for multiple bomb variants.

Its adaptable design allows compatibility with various fighter platforms, reducing inventory and lifecycle costs. The project aligns with India's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, enhancing self-reliance in defense production and positioning Solar Defence as a global player in aerial munitions.
