Solar Group Invests $1.4 Billion in DeepTech Defence Manufacturing at MIHAN SEZ, Nagpur
Solar Defence and Aerospace Ltd (SDAL) is investing $1.4 billion to establish a DeepTech manufacturing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The project aims to produce over 10,000 military drones annually, alongside humanoid and quadruped robots, enhancing India's defense capabilities and local production. Groundbreaking occurred with key government officials present, and production is expected to start within a year, supporting the nation's military technology sector and reducing reliance on imports.

Solar Defence and Aerospace Ltd (SDAL) is investing $1.4 billion to develop a DeepTech manufacturing hub in Nagpur's MIHAN SEZ. The facility will produce over 10,000 military drones, 1,000 humanoid robots, and 50 medium altitude long endurance UAVs annually, with production expected to commence within a year.
The investment, supported by the Maharashtra government, marks a shift towards high-technology defense systems. Additionally, SDAL's project aims to strengthen local supply chains and reduce reliance on foreign military equipment, generating significant employment and attracting technology partners.
